New Ways to Grow, a competition of the European Commission on Social Innovation, was launched in 2015. Out of 1400 projects from different European countries, 30 semi-finalists were selected and supported by experts and coaches in September 2015 in Vienna to develop their project.
They learned at the end of 2015 that they were not among the 10 finalists of the competition. Nevertheless, they still had an opportunity to convince the jury of the benefits of their activities and the seriousness of our development plan. Indeed, in July 2016, the second part of the New Ways to Grow competition opened, giving the 30 semi-finalists the chance to win the Impact Prize.
It was then necessary to demonstrate in a measurable and concrete way the impact of the company's activities on the social, environmental and economic level. To select the winner, the jury compared the development plan presented before 2015 and the impact assessment established 2016 to evaluate the progress achieved in 1 year.
That i why they were in Brussels today, to receive the Impact Prize from the European Commission rewarding their social, environmental and economic impact for a year. I was still doing my internship there when Juliette and Camille were building the application for this competition, so I'm really proud of them, congratulations again!
